But even worse, we see some just throw up their hands in frustration and say, “Evangelism just doesn’t work anymore.” When we hear those words, it breaks our hearts. The fact is, Evangelism Does Work! Evangelism just looks different today because things are different today.

The Method Should Be Continually Modernized
The way we have approached Evangelism for the last 50 years is to package up the entire conversion process–from start to end–in a single, momentous, one-time series of events (i.e., the traditional Evangelistic event). Not only is it a huge, taxing undertaking for churches, but it is nearly impossible to execute more than once per year.

The truth is churches are already doing a tremendous amount of Evangelism–it's just the best kept secret in town, and only a few people know about it. Consider this: At a minimum, every church has a service on a weekly basis and typically a Bible study as well. That's 104 Evangelism outreach opportunities–every. single. year. Mix in a prayer meeting once a week and you are up to 156 Evangelistic outreach events annually. And yet, we have this misconception that we aren't Spreading the Word unless we do something additional.
Where we are missing a tremendous opportunity is realizing the full potential of what we are doing every single week.
